Style Rules
- In English, Titles are Capitalised.
- Text shown in navigation menu must be identical to name of page, so titles are consistent. E.g. "Become a Member" resulting in "Joining the FFII" is no good.
Organisation of FFII Information Sites
Fifipedia
- Goal is to create an explicit reference section, this is one of the main reasons journalists like to visit FFII.
Fifipedia content should not be perishable, i.e. should remain valid for a long time.
- This site collects all interesting articles, including many from swpat. These articles will need extensive revision and cleaning up, since some, like Soft_Patents_in_Europe, are extremely long.
- Technology: wiki (moinmoin).
- Note: should absorb all interesting content from nosoftwarepatents.org.
Fifitalk
- Goal is to create a forum for public discussion, to reduce the amount of debate on email.
Fifitalk content is perishable, i.e. valid only for a few days or weeks.
- Fifitalk content will, however, be archived and searchable. It is mainly organised by date.
- Technology: Slashcode and the same model of story submission, editors, karma points, etc. The goal is to get people - not just FFII members - talking about patents and related affairs. It is educational, and part of our research process.
- Note: requires single signon (Aktiv or other).
Note: until fifitalk is up, I will store articles on this wiki.
Downloads
- Goal is to create a clear section for 'downloads', which are mostly documents, presentations, articles, etc. Possibly also recordings, photos, logos, etc. Defined as a seperate URL so that we can isolate this server for performance/legal issues.
- Technology: wiki (moinmoin).
Members
Goal is to create a private wiki where members can collaborate on drafts. Defined as a separate URL to avoid all possibility of this information being published or indexed by accident. Viewable only to logged-in members and editable by all logged-in members.
- Technology: wiki (moinmoin)
Other Sites
- Gauss
- Economic Majority
